This first song reminds me a bit of Alpha, a chilled Trip Hop band who started out in the late 90s. It's Never Had by Chinless Wonder and has the same kind of cool samples overlaid over the top of a chilled backing track. It's also one of those songs that makes me smile every time I hear it.
To pair with this I almost went with one of the songs from Alphas first album. The two I had in mind were Firefly or Somewhere Not Here. My gut instinct was telling me to go with the song I first thought of and neither of those Alpha songs sounded right to me - the mood created by them was too different.
So instead I decided to go with Star Fruit by Moon Panda. Sometimes it’s best to just go with your gut instinct. Float away!
