The first song, AUX is from the album Post Heaven by Jadu Heart. The album sees them exploring the emotional landscape resulting from the end of their 9 year romantic relationship and their new working partnership as an artistic duo. This song, AUX has a dark Moody feel where they trade lines with each other over a stark beat that rises to a dramatic climax before returning to a quiet ending. The video from Korean director Bang Jae Yeob matches the mood of the song with an especially moving ending.
To pair with this I've chosen another quietly powerful song, A Caged Bird/Imitations of Life by The Cinematic Orchestra. This features Roots Manuva on vocals who raps and sings passionately over a simple piano and drums backing in the verse that then overflows into a rising chorus. I love the passion in his voice especially during the chorus at the end.
